This aria opens the last scene in the first half of the opera Mad King Suibhne. Eorann, the noble Irish Queen, is waiting to meet her husband in the woods who is being brought to her by his brother. Suibhne ran away mad a year ago. She is hoping that on a beautiful day like this Suibhne is able to find peace.
